Saving the Colebrookdale Spur

16-Nov-09 21:34 | David Dean (administrator)
spur.jpgHPP alum Nathan Guest is providing research assistance in an effort to save the Colebrookdale Spur, an 8.6 mile short line railroad in Burks County, PA.

Nathaniel C. Guest of Pottstown called Scott to offer his help after learning the line was endangered.

Guest, 33, is a longtime rail fan. He holds a law degree from Temple University and a master's degree in historic preservation planning from Cornell University.

He researched the line's history and compiled a report that Scott used in his quest to convince federal transportation authorities to turn down East Penn Railroad's request to abandon the line.
