Up to the Minute, Breaking News from your Fellow HPP Alumni
One of the bigger HPPA stories of the moment is that we have moved the web site to Wild Apricot, a hosted application designed for running non-profit organizations.
HPPA members will now have a login used to access certain parts of the site and to update their profile. To get everyone engaged we've given lapsed members a two month membership so that all alumni, whether current HPPA members or not, can have a chance to explore the site (and hopefully get reenergized and join)
The new site has several new features:
- Members-Only area - we can now have web pages that are restricted to current members. This means we can have things like a member directory, a discussion group, "early availability" Grapevine items, etc. that are not viewable by the general public.
- Online payment, so that new members can join and exisiting members can renew using a credit card right from this site.
- The new member form can be filled in online. No more PDF!
- Self-service Member profiles - when members move or change jobs they can log into the site and update their contact information. Fields in the profile can be selectively shared with other members via the member directory.
- Automated renewal notices - in the past few years HPPA has let its members lapse and fall out of touch. People forgot when their membership expired. The dues are small but with no reminders people tend to drift off.
- Events Calendar - we will add any relevant events that members contribute. The calendar can be imported into your computer.
